I was recently introduced to an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal titled “Revenge of the anti it-bag.” In this article it highlights the recent trend toward bags that are more subtle and discreet. Long gone are the days of the flashy, hyped carryalls (yes that includes Carrie’s iconic Fendi Baguette). Coincidentally, I’ve recently taken to researching elegant timeless accessories and in doing so have gained admiration for many of the understated anti-it bags. In light of my impending wedding “leather” anniversary, I provided my hubby with a rather short list of leather pieces I was hoping to acquire. He was noticeably surprised to discover the unassuming nature of my list but was eager to recognize my on trend instincts.
My list included a range of designers with different price points and I was not surprised when I opened the Net-A-Porter box to discover that he had selected the See by Chloe ‘Kristen’ bag (similar here).
In case you’re curious, the other bags on my list included the Drew by Chloe, the Lucca Drive Candace by Kate Spade and of course this gorgeous Saint Laurent from the Hedi Slimane collection. Happy Shopping.
